Mine is a 1952 model (plastic keys). I’m learning to play it like a piano then it is very fast. It is sensitive to a heavy hand which will cause bad behavior. It is less tiring to fill up a page than my 1936 Corona Standard.

This is my first typewriter and I’m really loving it. Totally agree with your review. I wrote an article on medium that centers around my experience working with this machine. Keep up the good work and I would welcome feedback on the article!

In reply to Alan Kilpatrick. A Royal Canadian! I haven't logged many machines made in Canada. The only one was a Lettera 32. I prefer the Royal Quiet Deluxe made in the 1950s. Newer ones tend to have less issues. By then they were cranking up production for the personal typewriter.

Hi – looking at one if these on eBay – it says made in Canada on the front – do you know if some were made in Canada and some in the USA? Would there be a difference if that was the case. There is another later one with the new style colour bodywork – do you think that is better than the older ones? Sorry for all the questions, thanks so much, Alan
